Here is our latest bulletin - for our business partners only - a "heads-up" about new products, products being developed, products being discontinued, USPs, and staff product awareness training; from a Customer Service point of view, we cover any new processes, FAQs about software, pricing and stock availability; plus webinars, events, roadshows and much, much more.
October 2025
Update about Software Changes
We have received a welcome reprieve from Freedom Scientific about their "October 20th" deadline - now, up to 31st December 2025, customers with any older licence can still buy an upgrade, (but must also purchase an SMA).
There are a number of changes taking effect next year:
From 1st January 2026
For customers who have old-version licenses (2022 or older), or whose SMAs have expired, they will not be able to upgrade their licence after 1st January 2026.
- Only version years up to 3 years older than current will be eligible for upgrading.
- Versions older than 3 years will not be eligible for upgrading, and it will be necessary to purchase a new licence, plus a time-based SMA, to stay current - or purchase an annual Subscription*.
- multi-user licences for government and businesses will no longer be upgradeable if they are lapsed.
- Time-Based SMAs (Software Maintenance Agreements) will be available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 year options*.
* Pricing details of Subscription and multi-year SMA options are not yet available.
We won't be making a public announcement about these changes until at least after the release of version 2026. It is very important that our customers who need to renew their SMAs still feel a sense of urgency about the October 20th deadline and we don't want to confuse this important message by talking about the 1st January changes right now.
