FAQs

 What is the biggest difference between BSC2 and BSC3?
The BlindShell Classic 3 includes all the functions and features of the previous model but is enhanced with a smart assistant called Luna. Luna can answer questions and help set up basic functions on the phone. It also introduces the new Tandem app, designed specifically for the blind and their loved ones, makes it much easier to connect. Finally, BlindShell Classic 3 offers the ability to download additional apps outside of the BlindShell environment. Thanks to the touch screen, which is active in third-party apps, users can operate applications based on their preferences.

 

What is Tandem?
Tandem is a new application integrated into the BlindShell interface. The app enables communication with other users through chat, calls, video calls, and remote control assistance. All communication is encrypted. You can communicate with other BlindShell phone users as well as with smartphones running Android or iOS. Simply send them an invitation, and they can install the Tandem app.

What is Luna?
Luna is a voice assistant that allows you to control your phone. When the AI feature is enabled, you can ask questions you're curious about, and Luna will provide you with the best possible answer.

What can Luna do?

What is Observo? 

Observo is a unique feature helping you understand what’s in your photos.

What Can Observo Do? 

Observo isn't just smart — it's practical. Here are some everyday moments where it can make a real difference:

    Observo can identify everyday items like your wallet, a muesli bar, or your favourite book sitting on a shelf.

What is the difference between Third-party apps and the BlindShell App Catalog?

The BlindShell App Catalog contains apps developed by BlindShell, specifically tailored for the BlindShell environment and controls. In third-party apps, users can download apps that are commonly available for Android phones. Please note that these apps may not be fully accessible, and some may not be compatible with the BlindShell phone at all.

Will there be a SIM card in the phone?
No, we only supply phones as a device. You get a SIM card based on your own operator preference and the monthly plan you choose.

Is the battery replaceable?
Yes, you can simply remove and replace the battery. You can buy it in our e-shop in the accessories section.

Can I import contacts from a file?
Yes, you can import contacts from a .vcf file stored on the SD card or in the phone's internal memory. The contacts should be in .vcf (vCard) format with the name Contacts.vcf.

Other Notes:

This 4G phone is unlocked and not linked to any particular carrier / service provider. You have the freedom to arrange your own mobile phone plan with your chosen telco. 

If you want to transfer your existing phone SIM card to the BlindShell Classic 3, you should be aware that the device does not have the small NANO SIM slot. You will need to ask your local mobile phone store or current provider for a MICRO SIM holder, which they will normally provide at no cost.
