Introducing the Quantum Victorian team

Danny Keogh - Access Technology Software Officer (with Varden, his guide dog), Karmun Suen - Quantum Support Officer, Stewart Andrews and Leon Savaris - Low Vision Consultants.

Karmun is the first point of contact when you call or email or if you visit our showroom. She is the person to speak with if you have any issues or questions and if you need a quote or to place an order. Karmun has a background in healthcare and has 6 years clinical experience working with patients in an ophthalmologist clinic. She understands the struggles customers face having low vision and sees first hand what is involved in treating different eye conditions.

Stewart and Leon are our Victorian low vision consultants; Stewart has been with the company for 8 years and Leon 4 years. Between them, they have over 70 years combined experience in the optics industry and come with a wealth of experience. They would be the faces you see at your next consultation whether that be in your home or at our showroom. They see customers in metro and regional locations and are always happy to assist with any issues they are experiencing with any product.

Danny is our software support expert who is the best resource for advice and technical support for Jaws, Fusion and other software being a Jaws user himself. He is also an expert at blindness products and offers advice and training on these. His day usually comprises of calls with customers troubleshooting issues, remote training with customers and running the occasional professional development session. Danny is one of our longest serving staff members being with Quantum for over 19 years.

Varden is Danny’s Seeing Eye Dog and our showroom mascot who is the best boy and enjoys zoomies around the office.

Apart from our usual consultation with customers, we also have group visits, product launches and educational talks in our showroom and at work places and retirement villages.

Quantum Consultants Going Above and Beyond

2 sales consultants looking at tilting desk

A customer was referred by his optometrist for electronic magnifiers as he has geographic macular degeneration in the left eye and is keen to improve his reading vision. During the home visit, our consultant, Stewart observed that the customer would not be able to properly use the recommended device due to his limited mobility and lack of suitable furniture to place the magnifier on.

Following the consultation, Stewart sourced a suitable table from a medical supplier for the customer. The table was a perfect solution as it was height adjustable, tiltable and on wheels. This resulted in the best outcome for the customer as he was then able to use the recommended device well for the tasks he needed.

Tasmanian trip coming up soon...
We would also like to announce our upcoming trip to Tasmania in October. Historically, there has been a gap in the accessibility of low vision services for Tasmanians. Our Victorian consultant, Stewart Andrews visits Tasmania twice a year to try to fill this gap. He will be visiting Tasmania on 30/10/2023 - 3/11/2023.

We would love to welcome you to our showroom to check out the range of products we sell. Furthermore, if you are a current customer or a new customer and need assistance, training or troubleshooting on a device free of charge, we have our open training days on the first Monday morning of each month (2 October, 6 November and 4 December 2023).

Please do give us a call on 1300 883 853  or email us at info@quantumrlv.com.au to make an appointment.
