Gift from a sports legend set to change a Melbourne man’s life

A blind Melbourne sports fanatic hopes to meet the world’s most famous soccer player, after receiving a high-tech device which he says will revolutionise his life.

OrCam Technologies engaged soccer giant Leo Messi with a clear goal – to raise awareness of the challenges faced by people with vision impairments, and how OrCam’s AI-powered wearable assistive technology solution enables them to maximize their potential.

Local Messi fan Brendan Spencer was chosen as OrCam’s Australian Ambassador earlier this year and was due to meet his hero to receive an OrCam MyEye 2.0 device had COVID 19 not prevented that. Brendan however was recently gifted his device from Messi and the OrCam Dream Team and has been trained remotely by Stewart Andrews from Quantum RLV over the last month.

Brendan’s story aired on Channel 7 Melbourne recently.
