The EasyConverter Step by Step Process

This flow chart illustrates the steps involved in converting a document into alternative accessible formats with Dolphin EasyConverter.

Step 1: Open the source file you want to convert OR scan a paper document.

EasyConverter can convert Plain text files (.txt), Rich text file (.rtf), Microsoft Word documents (.doc/.docx), NIMAS content (.xml), DAISY XML (.xml), HTML (.html, .htm) and Portable Document Format files (.pdf).

Step 1b: Optional editing stage uses Microsoft Word to allow you to adjust the layout and content of your file (usefil for scanned source materials).

Step 2: EasyConverter converts your file into a project.

EasyConverter projects can be saved so that the conversion of the source document does not have to be repeated. This makes it quicker to produce alternative formats from the same source in the future.

Step 3: Next, choose the output format that you require, in the format that suits your reader's needs. EasyConverter can output to Text files (.txt), audio files (.mp3), DAISY digital talking books (DTB), large print (.doc), CD audio (.cda), or Braille (.brl).

Step 4: Press the convert button to turn your project into your chosen format.

Step 5: EasyConverter can then save or print your new alt format document to the location you have chosen in 'Settings', e.g. save to your chosen folder location, MP3 player, DAISY player or burn to CD, alternatively EasyConverter can print to your chosen printer or Braille to your embosser.
